Helios is a data reduction program for (U-Th-Sm)/He date calculation and simple age interpretations. It incorporates all standard methodology and supports either the spike-blank/spike-normal approach or using massing data. Aliquots can be reduced individually or in sets. Analytical data can be read in from Excel files or entered manually (see example files).
Ages can be interpreted as means or weighted means. Interpreted ages as well as underlying dates and analytical data can be uploaded directly to the Geochron database maintained by EarthChem (http://geochronportal.org) from the Helios program. Helios support upload and documentation of all morphometric parameters. Upload also supports gathering sample information using the IGSN unique sample identifier (see http://geosamples.org).
Data reporting requirements and the general approach for the interaction with the Geochron database was first defined at an EarthChem sponsored workshop. The workshop report is available at:

Although not yet available, a format for legacy data and/or age interpretations will be made available separately.
